thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions honoured for its sustainability
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (India) has been awarded the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Award for 2017. The award was presented by Dr Martin Ney, the German Ambassador to India, at the Chamber’s 61st Annual General Meeting on Sept 24 2017 at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.
The United Nations (UN) recently introduced 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for businesses. In order to support these goals, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce rewards outstanding sustainable business practices of its members with a Sustainability Award. The Award required applicant companies to summarize their activities in the fields of business, technology, environmental efforts, procurement policies, Health and Safety, HR practices and CSR initiatives.
The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce appointed a special panel from the sustainability fields to review the received applications. thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (India) has been honoured as the company “focuses on the environment with their emission reduction initiatives in the plants and projects designed and built by them. In addition they have a number of CSR measures for hospitals, schools, science laboratories and for the community at large. The panel observed that the company’s sustainability portfolio is not only compliance driven but rather oes ‘above and beyond’.”
The award comes as a vindication of the various activities in these fields that thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (India) pursues intently.
